San Juan summer of 2012

Okay.  Let's keep this short and sweet.  I created this so I could upload and write about places my husband and I have been.  I have an aunt who swears that we should start keeping a travel journal while we are young.  She says that we will cherish it later.  And while I may make some sort of actual scrapbook/journal later, I thought that this was the easiest way to get started.

These picture to the right and below were taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the summer of 2012.  This was the third time that we had been to Puerto Rico.  We wanted to stay somewhere that was cheap and near the beach (we weren't going to rent a car).  We ended up in some hotel chain and this restaurant was downstairs.  We got off our plane, rode to the hotel, took a nap, changed our clothes, and were FINALLY ready to go out.  We looked out the window of our room & it appeared to be a nice day.  Two minutes later, we got off the elevator to see that it's pouring rain outside.  While trying to decide what we should do we notice that there is a cafe attached to the hotel.  So we decide to just eat there.  We ordered a spinach, cheese, tomatoe, and ham calzone (they told us it was big enough for two people when really it was big enough for 3) and then some ice cream.
We spent some time in Old San Juan.  Above is a picture of a street in Old San Juan.
Below are several pictures taken in the San Juan Cathedral.  It is the second oldest church in the Caribbean.  Juan Ponce de Leon is also buried there.  He is a famous explorer who is known for searching for the fountain of youth and naming Florida. .

And this is all I feel like posting of these photos today.  Besides....the pictures are getting a little crazy when I try to move them.
